Tax Knowledge Implemented Into CFO Services

by Rob Sutter

I think that there is a lot that CFO services can bring to the table, as various fields may be covered. Everything from business-related matters to accounting will be looked to. That being said, what about those related to taxes, which seem to be those which not many in this level of work fully understand? I think that there is much that should be gone over, especially if there are numerous workers who may not understand all of the details that are associated with this line of work.

CFO posted an article in regards to this matter and I did not realize just how much knowledge went unnoticed. There are many executives who can stand to learn more about tax incentives, which are ones that will ultimately save people tremendous amounts of money. Ernest & Young posted the results of a survey that was done and 797 financial executives belonging to Fortune 1000 companies were spoken to. The results were ones that I was surprised by, which is something that you may agree with as well.

If there's one thing that I took away from this survey, it's that there are many executives that seem to lack awareness in terms of tax incentives. Out of the 797 individuals surveyed, 16 percent of them said that they were not aware at all of what these particular incentives were about. You can make the argument that 52 percent of these individuals are, at the least, somewhat aware of such information. However, the fact that there is still a percentage of people who lack knowledge on the matter is troubling.

As authorities along the lines of CFO Consulting Services will be able to cite, companies have to be able to pick up on more information in this regard. I think that the low status of tax departments is a point that has to be addressed, since they typically aren't involved in transactions and related strategies. Why should they be left out in matters that could very much involve them later on? Hopefully there is a level of expansion that those who work with CFO services will be able to survey.

There is a need, amongst executives, to know more about tax incentives. This is the kind of point that should be covered, especially when it is all but necessary for these Fortune 1000 entities as well as companies that may not be as prosperous. If all else fails, perhaps these companies will benefit from taking on the services that are linked to a CFO. If this is the case, I have no doubt that there will be a tremendous amount of information that will be attained and that it will help in the long run.
