Compared to other flooring types, they are the leading in offering warmth and a luxurious feel in the home. Recently, there has been an increase in carpet recycling California area which focuses on environmental friendly type of this home improvement flooring option.

During processing, post-consumer recycled material like pop and water bottle are used. Natural materials like wool, jute or sea glass can also be used. Due to the minimized level of treatment toxins involved, the end product is usually stronger and lasts longer. The production of this products help in economic growth since the raw materials for processing are collected all around the world.

The first step is to collect the carpets which are to be recycled. The owner can decide to transport them or call the firm to collect. The standard set by the various companies states that the material is only acceptable to them when clean and dry. A material, which does not meet this standard, is not eligible.

The professional should be able to tell through an identification process if the material used is suitable for recycling. This procedure employs the use of a light spectrometer to establish if the fiber is able to withstand the procedure. Some of the materials that are approved for the work are N6, PET fiber, polypropylene, foam padding and cardboard cores just to list a few.

After the fiber is found to be conforming to the desired standards, a process of packaging and transportation is carried out. This is then followed by transportation of the goods to the producer. It is important to weigh and code them with respect to color and fiber and then make an entry of each pack before the shipment.

The production process then starts with the separation of the fiber from the material backing by removing the binding glue. This is then taken through further processing after which the fiber can now be used to make a new item. These goods are considered environment friendly due to the lack of oil based components used to make the new carpets. Carpet tiles can also be made through a down cycling process. Building materials can also be found as a byproduct of the process and even resin for use in the plastic industry.

There are many benefits of using these products the most obvious been that they are environment friendly and durable. They also have their downside which must not be ignored. Some of the materials used in the processing are not fully eco-friendly. This means that the whole idea of a green product may not be perfectly green after all to some of the products.

There is also a limitation on the variety of designs and colors that are available for the user. It may be a challenge to the homeowner to achieve a unique look where color is concerned. It is clear that this industry is growing and there is so much hope of better and easier ways of processing. Technology advancement will surely not fail Carpet recycling California firms since the demand is growing each day.
