How To Work Well With A Study Group

by Hedrick Lepsch

Most individuals, no matter their profession, live busy and full lives. Those who are seeking additional education to help them build their careers in healthcare administration are among those whose busy schedules are very demanding.

Creativity at its core is the foundation of everything we know and everything we have yet to discover. Each man and woman has a born desire to create on a scale sliding from simple to revolutionary. But every day more and more students are discouraged from thinking creatively.

With all of the different priorities demanding their time, there are many individuals who feel like they simply cannot fit all that they need to do in a day into one twenty four hour period. For these individuals, the only way that they can begin to accomplish all they need to and organize their lives into a productive and meaningful daily schedule is by becoming better at the old skill of time management.

Managing one's time is not a foreign concept to many people, and there are a good number of individuals who are quite skilled at managing their time. Still, however, there are many more individuals who could use a good brush up on the tips and tricks to managing their own time to boost their effectiveness.

It is a good idea for each study group to come up with a collaborative study plan. This plan would include topics that need to be covered, a schedule for meetings, and even assignments for each group member and maybe a snack sign up. Having a clear plan will help your team to be as effective as possible.

Creation and artistry has been culturally and socially relegated to music halls, performance stages, and art studios. Yet creative thinking, by the above mentioned definition, has been employed by scientists, philosophers, and other renowned thinkers throughout history.

That is why those who understand how to plan out their time for every day will intentionally allow for cushion time in between duties and scheduled activities that will act as time buffers so that they can accomplish all that they have scheduled in their day, even if it is less than they have hoped to accomplish.

Thinking critically provides a valuable springboard for creative thinking and the development of new ideas. Again, I feel that one without the other leaves a student or educator with only half the puzzle solved. An exclusively critical mind is bound by the rules that currently govern cultural and social knowledge, while an exclusively creative mind has grand ideas based on nothing more than dreams. Critical thinking is the foundation that gives creative thinking the support it needs to break away and achieve brilliance.

Jumping the gun, as it is called, or getting ahead on future tasks is one of the ways that those who schedule time well can accomplish more than they could otherwise. By managing time well and by accounting for the daily interruptions, a person will be able to get even more efficiency from their already busy days.
