If you are looking to run a background check on a certain individual, you may want to access criminal files. The files reveal details about the criminal history of an individual. It is the responsibility of the government to provide the files to whoever wants to request for them. Employers and landlords are just two examples if people that gain vital pieces of information from the files. Employers put an effort to always hire the best staff possible. And to do so, they run a background check on job applicants so they can avoid hiring people with criminal backgrounds. Landlords, on the other hand, avoid accepting tenants with criminal backgrounds so they do not put the lives of the other tenants at risk.

Criminal files can be obtained online through various search tools that have the approval of the government to provide them to the public. But before choosing which search tool to use, make use that you also run a background check on them too so you can make sure that you are getting factual pieces of information. It is advantageous if you can locate user reviews because there you will the feedbacks of other users about the various search tools you are considering of using.

Inside a criminal file, you will find Criminal Arrest Records, which are said to be the most informative of all files. The name of the criminal, the nature of the crime, and the date and place of the crime are all revealed on arrest files. An arrest file is made even if the arrested individual is not put to jail. An individual may request to expunge his or her files. Requests will only be approved if the criminal is not found guilty of the crime charged against him or her.
